Some days you just need an extra pair of hands. Or a beanbag.
The resin master for the new mule sculpture, Tee-Nah, needs a pedicure. Thanks to the bean bag she's cooperating perfectly! Finish work artists -- this might be useful for you too :-)

That's a great idea!
ReplyDeleteMuch easier than the "bubble wrap and primer cans" method I use, thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteYour sculpture reminds me of a work shown recently at the NSW art gallery in Sydney. Outside the gallery are two huge bronze horse statues. An installation was created around the horses, one created a room that you walked into and here was this enormous horse right up to the roof standing in the middle of a double bed in a bedroom. Amazing! From a fellow blog triage traveller.
ReplyDeleteHi there!
ReplyDeleteCarol -- Thanks, glad you like it :-)
horsienut -- I'm liking the bubble wrap and primer cans method, use what you have on hand! Years ago I happened to have a few old shirts and half a bag of "bean bag" filler (those small foam pellets, like packing peanuts that are BB pellet size), so I sewed up a batch of beanies.
Kadira -- Thanks for stopping by! The exhibit you describe sounds fascinating. A googling session is in order to find pics of that :-)
What an arresting photo-an upside mule on a beanbag-fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks for a peek inside the process.
Thank you for sharing Lynn! I love your Mule standing on head!
ReplyDeleteClever! I'd love to hear more about this story. I think mule pedicures could be a very funny post. After all, the blog is called "laf 'n". Yes?
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Hannah and Dora :-)
ReplyDeleteAlyson, great idea, thanks! More on "pedicures" (i.e. sculpting the hooves of mules accurately) later. The differences between the hooves of horses and mules are substantial.
