I've left you too long with that image of me in the hospital -- it seems like years ago to me now, not just six weeks. Last weekend I was on top of a mountain, Fred's Mtn, just to the west of the Tetons in Wyoming.
Up top, at 10,000 feet, there was still plenty of snow. A record year as I understand it! Certainly more mid-July snow than we've seen since we started attending the annual Grand Targhee Music Festival in 2007. I still marvel that the tippy top of Fred's is limestone, an ancient seafloor in whose rocks you can still find fossil sea shells.
Here at home signs of normalcy are asserting themselves. I've been able to work sporadically on ceramics including shipping a bright-eyed chestnut sabino "Punjabi" (which was actually completed just before surgery) and painting the first few layers of a dappled grey Enviado for a patient collector.
Barry continues work on Sadie's production mold (one of his most challenging projects to date, what with her twists and turns) as well as molding and casting for other superb artists. We are grateful that others entrust their work to him for molding and casting, and it's simply a treat to see such diverse and wonderful work in the studio.
Of course it's too early to be giving you an exact date as to when this new resin might be available, but it should be soon! Pricing info will depend a great deal on how difficult she is to cast; that is, how many extra steps and therefore extra time it will take Barry to produce each one. We do hope for a debut yet this fall!
Poor Sadie has captured some of my frustration of the past few years; especially this year with all of its medical ups and downs.
Just as I start to feel "normal" again, it's time to get back on the chemo roller coaster. I start a new round this Wednesday; 16 weeks total with infusions every other week. I'll probably feel crappy and won't get much done every other week or so. That's just the way it's got to be.
Though we have a bit of inventory gathering on the shelves (the mules, Rompadeux and Indigo Beau) I'll wait until next week to post them for sale when I'm more sure of being able to get them boxed up and shipped out in a timely manner. I plan to post some items from my personal collection for sale next week too.
So if you've been waiting for sales to resume (bless you!) hang tight, I think we can do it next week. Then I'm sure you'll bear with me if despite our best efforts we have a few more scheduling hiccups this fall.
