12.21.10 Happy Solstice

The sun is skimming low in the southern sky this Solstice morning, a bright beacon of warmth as we turn to the coldest days of winter.

Solstice, rich with the promise of a new year.

A wonderful quote from my friend Donna Iona Drozda's blog for today:

"From this day until Spring Equinox, March 20 the light slowly increases and the Art/Life slowly wakens to the questions of ‘What next, What now, What matters?’"

This year's Solstice was heralded by a full Lunar eclipse.  Barry and I shivered while Betelgeuse sparkled amber and Sirius glittered cold blue beneath an ever more ruddy moon in the darkening sky.  A magic time.
