Among the many gorgeous horses at the Sport Horse Nationals (September 22 - 25) was this striking black mare, KB Jull Fahim, (1/2 Arab, 1/2 Paint) ridden by Chelsey Sibley. They earned National Champion Dressage at Prix St. George and Intermediate I. Saturday evening they joined Jull's sire KB Omega Fahim, who earned National Champion at Grand Prix and Intermediate II, in a special presentation of the FEI level Dressage Champions.
This elegant gray Anglo-Arabian mare is CA Zanes Darjeeling ridden by Megan Hays. They earned Reserve Champion in Prix St. George, Amateur to Ride.
Saturday night the show wrapped up with a few final classes, like the Carriage Pleasure Driving class (above) and the Arabian Sport Horse Show Hack class (below).
It is said that this was the last year Sport Horse Nationals will be held at the Idaho Horse Park in Nampa, Idaho and that makes me very sad. Idaho Horse Park is a wonderful facility, fairly centrally located for horsemen in the West. But the Boise area is not huge a metropolis (one of the major reasons we love it here), and at times my friend Sarah Minkiewicz-Breunig and I felt like we were the only people at the show who there purely as spectators.
Next month the Idaho Horse Park hosts the National Reined Horse Association NW Affiliate Finals; I'm planning to head back out to Idaho Horse Park for more field trip fun to share with you.
