Yes dear Reader, we ducked out on you for a week to go back to Illinois to work on my parents' home, getting it ready to put on the market. Those of you who have gone through this process know what a complete "time out of time" experience it is to sort through the artifacts of a childhood home to make it ready to welcome a new family. It's not quite done yet, I still need to go back for an estate sale in late September. But, we're nearing the end of this chapter.

While out on the road our beloved Subaru Forester clicked past the 100,000 mile mark just west of North Platte, Nebraska. We love our trusty 'Ru; it's given us many, many happy memories on the road.

It was a fairly uneventful trip overall. There was an interesting cloud looming over Omaha, Nebraska after we stopped for dinner there on the 9th. Darn thing chased us all the way across Iowa that night -- wind turbines silhouetted by flashes of lightening, droning tires drowned by thunder. We don't get much of that meteorological drama in southern Idaho!

In case you think it has been all travel and no studio this summer -- here is a new project that we're working on, "Chickory", a Little Bit scale pony gelding. He's a cutie and will be a perfect companion piece to "Netzky". I have yet to finalize the edition size and pricing. Netzky ended up being a 200 piece edition, but I think that's probably too large these days. Barry is building up an inventory of resin castings, so look for more info about sales soon!

One last smile from the road before we dive back into work here. New places to see, new things to discover in places we've been before; we never fail to find at least one new terrific restaurant or music venue. We visit old friends, meet new ones. It's all good. That said, we're
really happy to be home again!
This was the view as we crossed the Utah line into Idaho yesterday evening, back home under our big beautiful western skies. ~ Lynn
