Musical Interlude 9.3.08

At times musical interests intersect with equine interests.

The liner notes of Tony Furtado's 2004 cd These Chains, includes this comment about the inspiration for his song Swayback Jim,

"On (one) of my many lone cross-country trips I encountered an old sway back horse alone in a field somewhere in Nebraska. It blew my mind when he suddenly broke into a sprint. I imagined that at night he dreamt himself a more glamorous life as a racehorse. I named him Jim."

During his Sept 3 performance in Boise, Tony graciously accommodated a request for Swayback Jim. Thanks Tony!

A consummate musician, Tony Furtado blends roots rock, blues and bluegrass into a truly dynamic sound.
